|Award winning novel Dark Ride by Caroline Green|

It's always nice when good things happen to good people, so I was pleased to see an author I know win the Romantic Novelists' Association award for YA novel of the year. Caroline Green's Dark Ride features a plucky, believeable heroine (and you know I like those) whose life gets turned upside down when her family relocates to a sleepy seaside town - where a local fairground may hold some very dark secrets indeed. This is an enjoyable, contemporary tale that isn't afraid to look at the less pleasant parts of modern life, so if you're a fan of YA fiction with a supernatural bent, I'd recommend it.
